The Health and Safety Authority this week released details of updated Statistics in relation to Occupational Illnesses, fatalities and accidents.
According to the figures released, it is now evident that work related illnesses account for more “lost time” than work related injuries.
There have been 31 work related fatalities so far this year.
Manual Handling remains a large factor in incidentsĀ and accounted for over 50% of all reported accidents in 2007.
