New ESB COP for Avoiding Danger from Overhead Lines

The Health and Safety Authority and the Minister for Labour Affairs have approved the “ESB Networks Code of Practice for Avoiding Danger from Overhead Electricity Lines”.

The Code came into effect this week on October 14th 2008.

The code is designed to give advice and guidance to all persons working in the proximity of overhead lines and primarily focuses on construction work activities such as use of MEWP’s, concrete placing booms, loading and unloading materials.
