Brexit and Health and Safety in Ireland

It is becoming more apparent that Brexit influences more than just cross border crossing and financial trading, it also affects Health and Safety in Ireland.

Some Companies may currently import their chemicals from the UK. As a result of the possibility of Britain leaving the EU, this means that it will no longer be subject to European Health and Safety Legislation such as REACH. Here in Ireland we will continue to meet the requirements of such Legislation.

Also, some Companies in Ireland hold Certification of Machinery and equipment from UK Firms, again, if the UK leaves the EU, they will be operating under a different legislation to us.

The Health and Safety Authority has given some guidelines on the possible effects of a still uncertian Brexit and how to deal with them.
